Procedure Details
A 66-year-old man was diagnosed with a locally advanced neoplasm of the gastric antrum that invaded the pylorus and the first portion of the duodenum. As a result of general malaise, weight loss and upper digestive bleeding (melena – black stools), this tumor lesion was diagnosed.
Complete preoperative studies, cardiological evaluation, locoregional extension studies are performed, using tomography scans that rule out metastasis; Surgical intervention was decided, a highly complex surgical procedure was performed due to the patient’s diagnosis and the laparoscopic approach that we were able to offer.

Final Results
The surgery lasted 4 hours, laparoscopic approach, there was no intraoperative hemorrhage, and the patient did not need to be transfused. At the end of the surgical procedure, he is extubated in the operating room. He progressed favorably, he moved to his regular room and began feeding via nasoenteral tube 18 hours after surgery, on the second postoperative day with oral diet, and discharged 72 hours after the procedure.
Pending the pathological anatomy results for the exact classification of the neoplasia and scheduling the start of chemotherapy in the coming weeks.
